This is a really easy one bowl dog-friendly cake that any pup will love. The apple and banana give it a lovely moist finish (because who wants a dry birthday cake) and the easy frosting will be a big hit.This is a rich cake, but it freezes well so you could cut it into treat size pieces if you're only making it for one dog. The receipe will also size up well if you want to make a larger cake.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line your baking tin - I used a square 5" tin.2. In a large bowl mix together the flour and baking powder. Add the egg and oil and gently stir to combine. Once the flour is incorporated add the banana, peanut butter, apple and honey.3. Transfer the batter to the prepared tin and bake for 30 - 35 minutes until a tester inserted into the centre comes out clean. Allow to cool for 5 minutes in the tin before transferring to a cooling rack.4. If you want, cut the cake in half and stack in two layers (I trimmed mine down to form a square cake). Sandwich with the frosting and top with more frosting and decorations of your choice.
In a bowl mix together the cream cheese and Greek yoghurt. Add the peanut butter and mix to combine.
Make sure to use dog-friendly smooth peanut butter that is xylitol free.
Will keep for 3 - 4 days in the fridge.
This cake freezes well, perfect for future treats! Wrap in cling film or store in an airtight container.
As this cake is made with human ingredients, it's completely safe for humans to eat as well if you fancy tucking in with your furry friend.
